BY BRANDY TEMPLETON
Friday night, Newton residents and others came out in the rain to enjoy Light Up the Town.
Parents and their children were treated to hot cocoa from various organizations while the Newton Recreation gave out smores. There were also food trucks, child crafts, music, and dancers for entertainment. Most importantly, Santa made a visit to the history museum photos.
Newton resident Eric Stoddard moved from Utah several years back. He was thrilled to bring his family out to the event. “Theres just nothing like these small towns and events,” he said. “We really enjoy them.”
